Journal ArticleDOI
Optical properties of an ensemble of G-centers in silicon
Clément Beaufils,Walid Redjem,Emmanuel Rousseau,Vincent Jacques,A. Yu. Kuznetsov,Christophe Raynaud,Christophe Voisin,A. Benali,T. Herzig,Sébastien Pezzagna,Jan Meijer,Marco Abbarchi,Guillaume Cassabois +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the carrier dynamics in G-centers in silicon have been investigated by using time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy, and the authors obtained an estimation of 1.6$\pm$0.1 $\angstrom$ for the spatial extension of the electronic wave function in the G-center.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single artificial atoms in silicon emitting at telecom wavelengths
Walid Redjem,Alrik Durand,T. Herzig,A. Benali,Sébastien Pezzagna,Jan Meijer,A. Yu. Kuznetsov,Hai Son Nguyen,Sébastien Cueff,Jean-Michel Gérard,Isabelle Robert-Philip,Bernard Gil,D. Caliste,P. Pochet,Marco Abbarchi,Vincent Jacques,A. Dréau,Guillaume Cassabois +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the isolation of single optically active point defects in a commercial silicon-on-insulator wafer implanted with carbon atoms has been shown to be achievable at single scale, like in widebandgap semiconductors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Broad Diversity of Near-Infrared Single-Photon Emitters in Silicon.
Alrik Durand,Yoann Baron,Walid Redjem,T. Herzig,A. Benali,Sébastien Pezzagna,Jan Meijer,A. Yu. Kuznetsov,Jean-Michel Gérard,I. Robert-Philip,Marco Abbarchi,Vincent Jacques,Guillaume Cassabois,A. Dréau +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the detection of individual emitters in silicon belonging to seven different families of optically active point defects is reported, which are created by carbon implantation of a commercial silicon-on-insulator wafer usually employed for integrated photonics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scalable single-mode surface-emitting laser via open-Dirac singularities
Rushin Contractor,Wanwoo Noh,Walid Redjem,Wayesh Qarony,E. Martin,Scott Dhuey,Adam M. Schwartzberg,Boubacar Kante +7 more
TL;DR: The Berkeley surface-emitting laser (BerkSEL) as discussed by the authors is a single-mode light source with linear dispersion that exhibits the scaling of losses in reciprocal space.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single artificial atoms in silicon emitting at telecom wavelengths
Walid Redjem,Alrik Durand,T. Herzig,A. Benali,Sébastien Pezzagna,Jan Meijer,A. Yu. Kuznetsov,Hai Son Nguyen,Sébastien Cueff,Jean-Michel Gérard,Isabelle Robert-Philip,Bernard Gil,D. Caliste,P. Pochet,Marco Abbarchi,Vincent Jacques,A. Dréau,Guillaume Cassabois +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a commercial silicon-on-insulator wafer implanted with carbon atoms has been shown to exhibit a bright, linearly polarized single-photon emission with a quantum efficiency of the order of unity at wavelengths suitable for long-distance propagation in optical fibres.
