Stochastic modeling of filtrate alkalinity in water filtration devices: transport through micro/nano porous clay based ceramic materials
TL;DR: In this paper, a step-by-step manufacturing procedure which includes initial mixing, molding and sintering is used, and the development of alkalinity is a function of filtration time and the material property of the ceramic filters discussed in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface texture and optical properties of crystalline silicon substrates
A. A. Fashina,K. K. Adama,O. K. Oyewole,O. K. Oyewole,V. C. Anye,V. C. Anye,J. Asare,J. Asare,M. G. Zebaze Kana,Winston O. Soboyejo +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of an experimental study of the effects of surface texture on the optical and light trapping properties of silicon wafers have been presented, where surface texture is controlled by anisotropic etching with potassium hydroxide and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solutions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pressure-assisted fabrication of organic light emitting diodes with MoO3 hole-injection layer materials
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of pressure treatment on organic light emitting diodes with hole-injection layers (HILs) were investigated in a fracture mechanics framework, and the implications of the results are discussed for the pressure-assisted fabrication of robust organic electronic devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclic fatigue and fracture behavior of a gamma-titanium aluminide intermetallic
TL;DR: In this paper, the cyclic fatigue and fracture behavior of a gamma-titanium aluminide intermetallic was examined under fully-reversed, total strain-amplitude control loading at two different strain amplitudes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Compressive deformation and failure of trabecular structures in a turtle shell.
E. Ampaw,Tunji Adetayo Owoseni,Fen Du,Nelson Pinilla,John D. Obayemi,Jingjie Hu,Pierre-Marie Nigay,Ange Nzihou,Vanessa O. Uzonwanne,Martiale Gaetan Zebaze-Kana,Mandar M. Dewoolkar,Ting Tan,Winston O. Soboyejo,Winston O. Soboyejo +13 more
TL;DR: The proposed work shows that the turtle shell structures can be analyzed as sandwich structures that have the capacity to concentrate deformation and stresses within the trabecular bones, which enables significant energy absorption during compressive deformation.
