Soft-x-ray resonant inelastic scattering at the C K edge of diamond.

TL;DR: It is proposed that the dependence is indicative of the resonant inelastic scattering description of these emission spectra, i.e., the absorption-emission process should be described as a single scattering event where the momenta of the photoelectron and the valence hole in the final state are related by momentum conservation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Site-Specific Fragmentation of Small Molecules Following Soft-X-Ray Excitation.

TL;DR: In this article, soft x-ray excitation involving C $1s$ electrons in CO and acetone, was found to result in ionic fragmentation of the original molecule, and the fragmentation occurred specifically around the site of the carbon atom where the optical excitation takes place.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bonding and bond lengths of chemisorbed molecules from near-edge X-ray absorption fine-structure studies

TL;DR: In this paper, the position of the $\ensuremath{\sigma}$ shape resonance relative to the Fermi level is directly correlated with the intramolecular bond length of the chemisorbed molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photoemission spectra of C60- : electron-phonon coupling, Jahn-Teller Effect, and superconductivity in the fullerides

TL;DR: In this paper, the electron-phonon coupling constants were derived from the intensity of the excitation of phonons in high-resolution photoemission spectra, which support superconductivity.
