TL;DR: It is found that 5mC or its oxidized derivatives, at the majority of demethylated CpGs, are converted to unmodified cytosines independent of passive dilution from gametes to four-cell embryos.

An Androgen Receptor-MicroRNA-29a Regulatory Circuitry in Mouse Epididymis
Wubin Ma,Shuanggang Hu,Shuanggang Hu,Guangxin Yao,Guangxin Yao,Shengsong Xie,Shengsong Xie,Minjie Ni,Qiang Liu,Xinxing Gao,Jun Zhang,Xingxu Huang,Yonglian Zhang +12 more
TL;DR: It is observed that miR-29a was repressed by androgen/androgen receptor signaling in mouse epididymis by targeting a conserved androgen response element located 8 kb upstream of miR -29b1a loci, and the results demonstrated that there is a regulatory circuitry between the androgen signaling pathway and miR –29a in mouse injections that may be vital foresthesidymal development and functions.
