Expression of connective tissue growth factor in human renal fibrosis
Yasuhiko Ito,Jan Aten,Richard J. Bende,Barry S. Oemar,Ton J. Rabelink,Jan J. Weening,Roel Goldschmeding +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that CTGF may be a common growth factor involved in renal fibrosis, and an increase in the number of cells expressing CTGF mRNA was observed at sites of chronic tubulointerstitial damage, which correlated with the degree of damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
ISPD Catheter-Related Infection Recommendations: 2017 Update.
Cheuk-Chun Szeto,Philip Kam-Tao Li,David W. Johnson,Judith Bernardini,Jie Dong,Ana Elizabeth Figueiredo,Yasuhiko Ito,Rumeyza Kazancioglu,Thyago Proença de Moraes,Sadie van Esch,Edwina A. Brown +10 more
TL;DR: Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Prince of Wales Hospital, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong; Department of Nephrology, University of Queensland at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia; Renal Electrolyte Division.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simultaneous measurement of anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol by polymyxin B-selective adsorption and subsequent high-performance liquid chromatography analysis: increase in endogenous cannabinoids in the sera of patients with endotoxic shock.
Yin Wang,Yan Liu,Yasuhiko Ito,Teruto Hashiguchi,Isao Kitajima,Munekazu Yamakuchi,Hideaki Shimizu,Seiichi Matsuo,Hitoshi Imaizumi,Ikuro Maruyama +9 more
TL;DR: A 4-fold and 3-fold higher level of ANA and 2-AG is determined in the sera of patients with endotoxic shock than in normal serum, which should help in elucidating the role of the endogenous cannabinoids in the hypotension of human endotoxicshock.
Journal ArticleDOI
2015 Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy: Guidelines for Renal Anemia in Chronic Kidney Disease
Hiroyasu Yamamoto,Shinichi Nishi,Tadashi Tomo,Ikuto Masakane,Kazuhide Saito,Masaomi Nangaku,Motoshi Hattori,Takahiro Suzuki,Takahiro Suzuki,Satoshi Morita,Akira Ashida,Yasuhiko Ito,Takahiro Kuragano,Yasuhiro Komatsu,Ken Sakai,Yoshiharu Tsubakihara,Kazuhiko Tsuruya,Terumasa Hayashi,Hideki Hirakata,Hirokazu Honda +19 more
TL;DR: This is the third edition of the guidelines for renal anemia published by the JSDT, and the purpose is to improve the prognosis of chronic kidney disease patients, including after renal transplantation, through the treatment of renalAnemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro evidence for differential involvement of CTGF, TGFbeta, and PDGF-BB in mesangial response to injury.
Ingrid E. Blom,Anette J. van Dijk,Lotte Wieten,Karen Duran,Yasuhiko Ito,Livio Kleij,Mark deNichilo,Ton J. Rabelink,Jan J. Weening,Jan Aten,Roel Goldschmeding +10 more
TL;DR: It appears that CTGF is specifically involved in a subset of the adaptive changes of MC involved in mesangial repair and sclerosis, which makes it an interesting candidate target for future intervention strategies.
