Simulation of multicomponent aerosol dynamics
Yong Pyo Kim,John H. Seinfeld +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a technique for direct numerical solution of the multicomponent aerosol general dynamic equation (GDE) was developed and tested, which obtains the aerosol size-composition distribution without the need to make any a priori assumptions about the nature of the distribution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical composition of major VOC emission sources in the Seoul atmosphere.
TL;DR: This paper describes a chemical analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for five emission sources in Seoul, including motor vehicle exhaust, gasoline evaporation, paint solvents, natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Asian dust events on airborne bacterial community assessed by molecular analyses
Eun Mi Jeon,Eun Mi Jeon,Heung Joo Kim,Kweon Jung,Joo Hyung Kim,Min-Young Kim,Yong Pyo Kim,Jong Ok Ka +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the impact of Asian dust events on atmospheric bacterial communities was studied using both cultivation and culture-independent methods, and the results revealed that the airborne culturable bacterial concentration was significantly increased and the ambient bacterial community structure was abruptly changed during ADE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Source contribution to aromatic VOC concentration and ozone formation potential in the atmosphere of Seoul
TL;DR: In this paper, the seasonal trend of C6-C9 aromatic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and the contribution of vehicle exhaust and evaporative emissions to the total aromatic VOC concentration and ozone formation potential were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temporal and spatial variations of the particle size distribution of PAHs and their dry deposition fluxes in Korea
TL;DR: The atmospheric particle size distributions between 1 and 100 μm in diameter and their dry deposition fluxes of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were measured at four sites in the mid-part of Korea to characterize the spatial distribution, the PAHs levels and dry deposition Samples were collected at Inchon, Seoul, Yangsuri, and Yangpyoung between 21 and 25 February, and between 12 and 16 May 2000 as discussed by the authors.
