Journal ArticleDOI

Monitoring of the central blood pressure waveform via a conformal ultrasonic device.

TL;DR: The design and operation of an ultrasonic device that is conformal to the skin and capable of capturing blood pressure waveforms at deeply embedded arterial and venous sites is described, which enables the non-invasive, continuous and accurate monitoring of cardiovascular events from multiple body locations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Strain engineering and epitaxial stabilization of halide perovskites.

TL;DR: Strain engineering of α-formamidinium lead iodide (α-FAPbI 3) is investigated using both experimental techniques and theoretical calculations, and it is demonstrated that a compressive strain effectively changes the crystal structure, reduces the bandgap and increases the hole mobility of α -FAPBI 3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Soft, stretchable, high power density electronic skin-based biofuel cells for scavenging energy from human sweat

TL;DR: In this paper, a soft, stretchable electronic-skin-based biofuel cell (E-BFC) is presented, which exhibits an open circuit voltage of 0.5 V and a power density of nearly 1.2 mW cm−2 at 0.2 V.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wearable thermoelectrics for personalized thermoregulation

TL;DR: This TED is the first to achieve long-term active cooling with high flexibility, due to a novel design of double elastomer layers and high-ZT rigid TE pillars that may enable a shift from centralized cooling toward personalized cooling with the benefits of substantially lower energy consumption and improved human comfort.
