Dependence of the low-mass X-ray binary population on stellar age
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the dependence of the low-mass X-ray binary population in early-type galaxies on stellar age and found that older galaxies tend to possess about 50% more LMXBs (per unit stellar mass) than the younger ones.
Journal ArticleDOI
A chandra study of temperature substructures in intermediate-redshift galaxy clusters
Liyi Gu,Haiguang Xu,Junhua Gu,Yu Wang,Zhongli Zhang,Jingying Wang,Zhenzhen Qin,Haijuan Cui,Xiang-Ping Wu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the gas temperature maps created from the Chandra archive data, revealing the prevailing existence of temperature substructures on ~100 h −1 70 kpc scales in the central regions of nine intermediate-redshift (z ≈ 0.1) galaxy clusters, which resemble those found in the Virgo and Coma Clusters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-phase icm in the central region of the rich cluster of galaxies a1795: a joint chandra, xmm-newton, and suzaku view
Liyi Gu,Liyi Gu,Haiguang Xu,Junhua Gu,Madoka Kawaharada,Kazuhiro Nakazawa,Zhenzhen Qin,Jingying Wang,Yu Wang,Zhongli Zhang,Kazuo Makishima +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed analysis of the high-quality Chandra, XMM-Newton, and Suzaku data of the X-ray bright cluster of galaxies A1795 was performed, and the authors reported clear evidence for a two-phase intracluster medium (ICM) structure, which consists of a cool (with a temperature T-c approximate to 2.0-2.2 keV) and a hot (T-h approximate to 5.7 keV).
Journal ArticleDOI
Suzaku studies of luminosity-dependent changes in the low-mass X-ray binary Aquila X-1
Soki Sakurai,S. Torii,Hirofumi Noda,Zhongli Zhang,Ko Ono,Kazuhiro Nakazawa,Kazuo Makishima,Hiromitsu Takahashi,Shinya Yamada,Masaru Matsuoka +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a Comptonized blackbody model with relatively high (2.0) optical depths, plus an additional softer optically-thick component, to reproduce the spectrum of the neutron-star low-mass X-ray binary Aquila X-1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-Phase ICM in the Central Region of the Rich Cluster of Galaxies Abell 1795: A Joint Chandra, XMM-Newton, and Suzaku View
Liyi Gu,Haiguang Xu,Junhua Gu,Madoka Kawaharada,Kazuhiro Nakazawa,Zhenzhen Qin,Jingying Wang,Yu Wang,Zhongli Zhang,Kazuo Makishima +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Chandra, XMM-Newton, and Suzaku data of the X-ray bright cluster of galaxies Abell 1795 were used to detect a two-phase ICM structure, which consists of a cool (with a temperature T = 2.0-2.2 keV) and a hot (T = 5.0 -5.7 keV).
