TL;DR: Al-Homaidi et al. as mentioned in this paper measured the level of voluntary disclosure in the published annual reports of Yemeni Islamic banks, and found that the amount of voluntary disclosures that Yemeni Islamic banking institutions publish in their annual reports has gradually increased over the ten years examined.
Abstract: This article aims to measure the level of voluntary disclosure in the published annual reports of Yemeni Islamic banks. Four full-fledged Islamic banks from Yemen are selected for the current study. A disclosure checklist covering 266 items is prepared and a 10-year period, 2005–2014, is taken. The disclosure index items were classified into seven groups, such as basic information on Islamic banks, financial ratios, corporate governance information, financial statements data, corporate social disclosure, Zakat information, and other information that has been taken as an important attribute of voluntary disclosure. The obtained results show that the amount of voluntary disclosure that Yemeni Islamic banking institutions publish in their annual reports has gradually increased over the ten years examined. The results revealed that the highest average disclosure index score over the ten years was achieved by Tadhamon Islamic International Bank (TIIB), the second highest average disclosure score was obtained by Saba Islamic Bank (SIB), and the lowest average voluntary disclosure rating score during the ten years surveyed was achieved by Shamil Bank of Yemen & Bahrain in Yemen during the study period. Substantially, the result of voluntary disclosure scores indicates that the degree of voluntary disclosure by Yemeni Islamic financial institutions has relatively expanded during the ten years investigated. The findings provide new evidence for voluntary disclosure, particularly, Islamic disclosure items. The survey findings can be useful for regulators in Yemen to improve overall disclosure practices by Islamic banks operating in Yemen. Eissa A. Al-Homaidi (India), Mosab I. TL;DR: This paper explored the factors that cause non-verbal language barriers, their types and their impact on effective communication, and concluded that misunderstanding, miscommunication, and misinterpretation arise when the sender (speaker) and receiver (listener) do not fully understand each other's language and culture.
Abstract: Although globalization and communication technology are bringing the world closer together in a global village, language barriers constitute a common challenge to individuals, groups, international companies, governments, nations, and the whole world. This qualitative study aimed at exploring the factors that cause non-verbal language barriers, their types and impact on effective communication, and our life, as well, are making people aware of the importance of overcoming them.

TL;DR: Female customers are significantly more appreciative to same-gender pharmacy services compared to male customers, and employed participants were more neutral toward the gender of pharmacist compared to unemployed participants.
Abstract: Objectives : to explore customers’ preferences toward gender of pharmacist in community pharmacy in Al Ain area, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Also, to study the effect of different socio-demographic determinants on their choices. Methods : A cross sectional survey has been carried out among 500 adult individuals randomly selected from Al Ain city, UAE. Sub analysis of the results has shown a statistically significant difference in choices between male and female participants. In general, almost half of participants are neutral toward the gender of pharmacist. Most of males lean toward “no preference”, which is significantly higher than females same choice (55.1% VS 44.7% respectively, P = 0.029). Females’ preferences toward the same gender service were significantly higher than male participants (46.2% VS 30.8% respectively. P<0.001). Level of education has a slight impact on participants’ choices. Finally, employed participants were more neutral toward the gender of pharmacist compared to unemployed participants. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors prove that a paranormal operator under certain scalar perturbation is a *-finite operator, and give an example of paranormal operators which are not *-Finite operators.
Abstract: Let H be a separable infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert space and B(H) denotes the algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. An A∈B(H) is said to be *-finite operator if 0∈W¯(TA-AT∗) for each T∈B(H). In this paper, we present some properties of *-finite operators and prove that a paranormal operator under certain scalar perturbation is *-finite operator. However, we give an example of paranormal operators which is not *-finite operators.
