01 Jan 2004TL;DR: This work proposes an architecture for a multi-agent DSS for e-commerce, and describes a prototype system for making on-line investment decisions.
Abstract: In an era of electronic commerce businesses and consumers have access to vast amounts of potentially important information. While this is beneficial for making informed decisions, the decision makers could easily become overwhelmed by the information, much of which may not be relevant. Thus, there is a pressing need for decision aiding tools that would effectively process, filter, and deliver the right information to the organizational and individual decision makers. In this work we argue that combination of DSS and agent technologies could prove a very powerful tool for rendering decision support in e-commerce application. We propose an architecture for a multi-agent DSS for e-commerce, and describe a prototype system for making on-line investment decisions.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fractal model of phase interactions is used to estimate the threshold values of the nanocluster volume ratio of an epoxy polymer matrix and the metal nanoparticles of a filler, with the mechanical stress transfer from the polymer matrix to the filler being weakened upon reaching these values.
Abstract: It is shown on the basis of the micromechanical tensile strength model of a polymer composite, that the strength of an interfacial region material in polymer–high modulus filler nanocomposites decreases as its thickness increases, which contradicts the case of adhesion between two polymers, in which the thickness of an interfacial region is linearly dependent on the degree of interfacial adhesion. A fractal model of phase interactions is used to estimate the threshold values of the nanocluster volume ratio of an epoxy polymer matrix and the metal nanoparticles of a filler, with the mechanical stress transfer from the polymer matrix to the filler being weakened upon reaching these values. It is shown that exceeding a threshold value of the filler volume ratio violates the aggregate stability of the filler and reduces the values of the dimensionless parameter of the micromechanical model, which characterizes the degree of interfacial adhesion. With a further increase in the filler volume ratio, the values of this parameter become negative, while the composite strength virtually does not increase.

27 Aug 2019TL;DR: Z-number-valued weighted average aggregation operator is used for solving of hierarchical decision making based on an evaluation of weapon systems under Z- number-based information.
Abstract: Weapon systems are complex technical systems characterized by imperfect relevant information. Zadeh introduced the Z-number concept to formalize imprecision and partial reliability of information. In this paper, we consider a hierarchical decision making based on an evaluation of weapon systems under Z-number-based information. Z-number-valued weighted average aggregation operator is used for solving of this problem.

TL;DR: Simulation has shown that the quality of recognition significantly improves when using the suggested neurofuzzygraphic object classifier with modified distance measure, which gives better performance indices than systems based on traditional ordinary and cumulative distance measures.
Abstract: The paper analyses issues leading to errors in graphic object classifiers. Thedistance measures suggested in literature and used as a basis in traditional, fuzzy, andNeuro-Fuzzy classifiers are found to be not suitable for classification of non-stylized orfuzzy objects in which the features of classes are much more difficult to recognize becauseof significant uncertainties in their location and gray-levels. The authors suggest a neurofuzzygraphic object classifier with modified distance measure that gives betterperformance indices than systems based on traditional ordinary and cumulative distancemeasures. Simulation has shown that the quality of recognition significantly improveswhen using the suggested method.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was established by laboratory bench-test experiments that with the existing gate valve construction with a parallel-sided gate under medium pressure pulsations there is wear of surfaces in contact due to fretting corrosion.
Abstract: It is established by laboratory bench-test experiments that with the existing gate valve construction with a parallel-sided gate under medium pressure pulsations there is wear of surfaces in contact due to fretting corrosion. The materials used, assembly structural parameters, and vibration have the greatest effect on wear intensity. Recommendations are made for improving the design of the locking assembly for direct-flow high-pressure gate valves.
