TL;DR: In this article, an integrated framework was proposed to investigate the adoption intention of mobile banking technology and to test it in the Brazilian context, and the framework was able to explain approximately 69 percent of the dependent variable (intention to adopt mobile banking) variation, which is a figure higher than those obtained in previous studies.
Abstract: Purpose – This paper's objective is to propose an integrated framework to investigate the adoption intention of mobile banking technology and to test it in the Brazilian context.Design/methodology/approach – A total of 666 respondents from the most economically developed cities in Brazil were surveyed. The sample comprised 333 mobile banking users and 333 mobile banking non‐users. Partial least squares was used to analyze the proposed framework's construct relations.Findings – The framework offers an integrated view, taking into account more predictors than other studies on the adoption of innovations. For non‐users, the framework was able to explain approximately 69 percent of the dependent variable (intention to adopt mobile banking) variation, which is a figure higher than those obtained in previous studies. However, for current users of mobile banking, only 27 percent of the dependent variable variation was explained by the framework. It was also observed that the predictors' influence over the criter...

TL;DR: Results show that it is able to provide adequate performance for the SWAMP pilots, but requires specially designed configurations and the re-engineering of some components to provide higher scalability using less computational resources.
Abstract: The smart management of freshwater for precision irrigation in agriculture is essential for increasing crop yield and decreasing costs, while contributing to environmental sustainability. The intense use of technologies offers a means for providing the exact amount of water needed by plants. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the natural choice for smart water management applications, even though the integration of different technologies required for making it work seamlessly in practice is still not fully accomplished. The SWAMP project develops an IoT-based smart water management platform for precision irrigation in agriculture with a hands-on approach based on four pilots in Brazil and Europe. This paper presents the SWAMP architecture, platform, and system deployments that highlight the replicability of the platform, and, as scalability is a major concern for IoT applications, it includes a performance analysis of FIWARE components used in the Platform. Results show that it is able to provide adequate performance for the SWAMP pilots, but requires specially designed configurations and the re-engineering of some components to provide higher scalability using less computational resources.

17 May 2013TL;DR: This paper aims to present a comparison between different controllers to be used in a dynamic model of a quadcopter platform and results were obtained through simulations for 10 different attitudes of the quadcopters.
Abstract: This paper aims to present a comparison between different controllers to be used in a dynamic model of a quadcopter platform. The controllers assumed in this work are an ITAE tuned PID, a classic LQR controller and a PID tuned with a LQR loop. The results were obtained through simulations for 10 different attitudes of the quadcopter, however, in this paper simulation results will be presented for the vertical attitude only (the remainder are analogous and were omitted for brevity).
