16 Jun 2013TL;DR: This chapter is devoted to the main topic of this book, which is the alternative mathematical model of linguistic semantics and pragmatics (AML), and presents the model of basic units and the way the semantics of simple sentences is modeled.
Abstract: This chapter is devoted to the main topic of this book, which is the alternative mathematical model of linguistic semantics and pragmatics (AML). In many places it consists of an outline of the main ideas only since it is impossible to analyze all of the details in a single book. The first two sections deal with the general mathematical frame of the model. In Sections 5.3–5.5, we present the model of basic units and the way the semantics of simple sentences is modeled. In Sections 5.6 and 5.7, we discuss other important features of natural language and the possible ways AML can handle them.

TL;DR: Capillary gas chromatography and mass spectrometry were used to determine fatty acids in algae of the genera Chlorella and Scenedesmus and in the blue-green alga Spirulina platensis, and further acids, not previously described in these organisms, were detected.

TL;DR: In this paper, the dislocation distribution in the surface layer of cyclically deformed specimens of polycrystalline copper is studied by means of transmission electron microscopy of thin foils, both parallel and non-parallel to the surface.
Abstract: The dislocation distribution in the surface layer of cyclically deformed specimens of polycrystalline copper is studied by means of transmission electron microscopy of thin foils, both parallel and nonparallel to the surface. The distribution within the surface layer and near the persistent slip bands is found to differ considerably from that inside the specimens. The persistent slip bands consist of zones of alternately high and low dislocation density. The zones of high density link together at a particular depth below the surface. The zones of low density are assumed to serve as “channels” in which the motion of dislocations emitted from Frank-Read sources is relatively free. The escape of these dislocations from the free surface results in surface extrusions.

01 Jan 1976TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the approach described in this paper with the standard approach and show future trends and problems in the theoretical interpretation of vibration-rotation spectra of molecules.
Abstract: In this section, we shall compare briefly the approach to molecular spectra using the Hamiltonian described in this paper with the standard approach19' 20) Such a comparison is useful because it shows future trends and problems in the theoretical interpretation of vibration—rotation spectra of molecules.

TL;DR: RNA synthesis in pig oocytes was studied using autoradiography and silver staining of the nucleolus organizing region and the quantity of silver‐positive material in dictyate oocytes significantly decreased as pig follicles enlarged in diam.
