TL;DR: In this article, a method for mounting elements when installing a wind turbine by hoisting the hub to the nacelle is presented, which includes the main bearing mounted to the hub with fastening members such as bolts.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for mounting elements when installing a wind turbine by hoisting the hub to the nacelle. The hub includes the main bearing mounted to the hub with fastening members such as bolts. Also disclosed is a nacelle for a wind turbine, said nacelle provided with a slot for accommodating a main bearing for the hub. Also disclosed is a method for transporting elements of a wind turbine, said elements comprising a nacelle, a hub and a main bearing for the hub, and said method comprising assembling the hub and the main bearing with fastening members at the site of production or at another preliminary site.

TL;DR: In this article, the main focus is the experimental and numerical investigation of a 750kW wind turbine gearbox with main shaft misalignment and planet carrier deflection, and a purely numerical model has been developed and it shows good accordance with the experimental data.
Abstract: The main focus of this paper is the experimental and numerical investigation of a 750[kW] wind turbine gearbox. A detailed model of the gearbox with main shaft has been created using MSC.Adams. Special focus has been put on modeling the planet carrier (PLC) in the gearbox. For this purpose experimental data from a drive train test set up has been analyzed using parameter identification to quantify misalignments. Based on the measurements a combination of main shaft misalignment and planet carrier deflection has been identified. A purely numerical model has been developed and it shows good accordance with the experimental data.

TL;DR: In this article, a turbulence sensor and sensor system for determining the condition of a wind turbine blade is presented, consisting of a sensor membrane and a light source and light detector provided in a sensor cavity in the blade.
Abstract: The invention comprises a turbulence sensor and sensor system for determining the condition of a wind turbine blade. A turbulence sensor comprises a sensor membrane provided in the surface of a wind turbine blade. A light source and light detector provided in a sensor cavity in the blade illuminate the sensor membrane and detect the light reflected back. The reflected light is mixed with non-reflected light to give an interference pattern indicative of the quality of the airflow, whether it is laminar or turbulent. The turbulence sensor can be used in a sensor system for detecting the accumulation of unwanted matter, such as dirt or ice, on the blade.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of controlling a wind turbine consisting of a tower, a nacelle located on the tower, and a rotor mounted on the nascelle and comprising a hub and at least one blade is described.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of controlling a wind turbine comprising a tower, a nacelle located on the tower, and a rotor mounted on the nacelle and comprising a hub and at least one blade, the wind turbine further comprising a yaw drive system for rotating the nacelle in relation to the tower about a substantially vertical axis, and/or a pitch drive system for rotating the blade around a longitudinal axis there of, the method comprising, during a stand-still, non-power-producing situation of the wind turbine due to high wind speeds, continuously or periodically rotating, by means of the yaw drive system, the nacelle so as to vary the direction of the wind in relation to the rotor, and/or continuously or periodically rotating, by means of the pitch drive system, the blade so as to vary the direction of the wind in relation to the blade.

TL;DR: In this article, a wind turbine rotor blade comprising a lightning protection system is described, which comprises a lightning receptor for capturing lightning strikes in the rotor blade, and the lightning receptors comprise carbon nanotubes.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wind turbine rotor blade comprising a lightning protection system. The lightning protection system comprises a lightning receptor for capturing lightning strikes. The receptors are arranged in the rotor blade. The lightning receptors comprise carbon nanotubes. In embodiments, the nanotubes are at an exterior surface is provided with a layer of carbon nanotubes and/or at least part of the lightning receptor is of a carbon nanotube metal composite material, such as a carbon nanotube metal matrix composite material. Moreover, the exterior surface of the receptor may in embodiments be provided with one or more electric field enhancing protrusions.
