Abstract: GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT Abstract A simple method was developed for the synthesis of 3-chalcogen indoles via iodine-promoted direct 3-selanyl- and 3-sulfenylation of indoles with dichalcogenides. The reaction was carried out smoothly in EtOH under air at room temperature, selectively giving a series of 3-chalcogen indoles bearing different functional groups in good to excellent yields. The procedure has the merits of environmental friendliness, easy operation, wide substrate scope and mild reaction conditions.

Abstract: The reactivity of organonickel sigma-complex [NiBr(Mes)(bpy)], where Mes = 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl, bpy = 2,2’-bipyridine towards phenylphosphine (PhPH2) has been investigated. It was found that this interaction leads to secondary mesitylphenylphosphine and dimesitylphosphine by formation of new carbon-phosphorus bond involving mesityl fragment of starting organonickel sigma-complex.

TL;DR: The highest acceleration (more than 11 times in comparison with the reaction in the absence of amphiphile) has been reached in the case of dicationic amphiphiles with three hydrophobic tails.
Abstract: The series of novel pyrimidine-containing amphiphiles were examined as catalysts for cleavage of phosphonates having various hydrophobicities. Kinetic data showed marked substrate specificity of three different types (i) inhibition for both substrates, (ii) catalysis for more hydrophobic phosphonate and inhibition for less hydrophobic phosphonate, and (iii) catalysis for both substrates. The highest acceleration (more than 11 times in comparison with the reaction in the absence of amphiphile) has been reached in the case of dicationic amphiphile with three hydrophobic tails.

Abstract: A supported acidic catalyst was easily prepared via anchoring imidazolium salt-based ionic liquid onto multiwalled carbon nanotube by covalent bonds. This novel immobilized acidic ionic liquid effectively catalyzed the one-pot synthesis of α-aminophosphonates from the reaction of amines and aldehydes with diethyl phosphite. The catalyst can be easily recovered and reused without appreciable change in its efficiency.

TL;DR: In this article, the interaction of hydrazine (N₂H₄) molecule with pristine and Si-doped aluminum nitride nano-cage was investigated using the density functional theory calculations.
Abstract: The interaction of hydrazine (N₂H₄) molecule with pristine and Si-doped aluminum nitride (Al₁₂N₁₂) nano-cage was investigated using the density functional theory calculations. The adsorption energy of N₂H₄ on pristine Al₁₂N₁₂ in different configurations was about -1.67 and -1.64 eV with slight changes in its electronic structure. The results showed that the pristine nano-cage can be used as a chemical adsorbent for toxic hydrazine in nature. Compared with very low sensitivity between N₂H₄ and Al₁₂N₁₂ nano-cage, N₂H₄ molecule exhibits high sensitivity toward Si-doped Al₁₂N₁₂ nano-cage so that the energy gap of the Si-doped Al₁₂N₁₂ nano-cage is changed by about 31.86 and 37.61 for different configurations in the SiAlmodel and by about 26.10 in the SiNmodel after the adsorption process. On the other hand, in comparison with the SiAlmodel, the adsorption energy of N₂H₄ on the SiNmodel is less than that on the SiALmodel to hinder the recovery of the nano-cage. As a result, the SiNAl₁₂N₁₁ is anticipated to be a potential novel sensor for detecting the presence of N₂H₄ molecule. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

TL;DR: In this article, a one pot three-component nano Gd2O3 catalyzed neat reaction of 2-morpholinoethanamine and dimethylphosphite with various salicylaldehydes under microwave irradiation afforded a series of new α-aminophosphonates in high yields.
Abstract: GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT ABSTRACT A one pot three-component nano Gd2O3 catalyzed neat reaction of 2-morpholinoethanamine and dimethylphosphite with various salicylaldehydes under microwave irradiation afforded a series of new α-aminophosphonates in high yields. The synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, (1H, 13C, 31P)-NMR, and mass spectral methods. The antioxidant activity of these compounds was evaluated against DPPH, NO, and H2O2 methods and found that the compound Dimethyl (2-hydroxy-5-nitrophenyl) (2-morpholinoethylamino) methylphosphonate (4h) has higher antioxidant activity than the corresponding standards.

TL;DR: In this article, four new organotin(IV) complexes with 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde-N(4)-ethylthiosemicarbazone [(H2DNET), (1)] of the type [MeSnCl(DNET] (2), [BuSnCl[DNET)] (3), [PhSnCl{DNET} (4), and [Ph2Sn{D NET] (5) have been synthesized by the direct reaction of H2D NET (1) with organotin (IV) chloride(s)
Abstract: Four new organotin(IV) complexes with 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde-N(4)-ethylthiosemicarbazone [(H2DNET), (1)] of the type [MeSnCl(DNET] (2), [BuSnCl(DNET)] (3), [PhSnCl(DNET)] (4) and [Ph2Sn(DNET] (5) have been synthesized by the direct reaction of H2DNET (1) with organotin(IV) chloride(s) in the presence of potassium hydroxide in absolute methanol. All the compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivity, UV-Vis, IR, 1H, 13C and 119Sn NMR spectral studies. The molecular structure of ligand (1) has been confirmed by X-ray single crystal diffraction. Spectroscopic data clearly suggested that Sn(IV) centre is coordinated with the ONS tridentate ligand (H2DNET) and exhibits a five-coordinate geometry in solution. Antibacterial studies were carried out in vitro against four bacterial strains. All organotin(IV) compounds (2–5) showed good activity against various bacteria but lower activity than the reference drug (Ciprofloxacin). The results demonstrate that organic groups attached t...
