Salicylhydroxamic acid as an analytical reagent
TL;DR: Salicylhydroxamic acid has been used as an analytical reagent for the gravimetric estimation of cadmium and uranium as mentioned in this paper, and vanadium gives a bluish-violet soluble complex which can be extracted with solvents like ethyl acetate; from this, vanadium can be estimated by evaporation and ignition to V2O5.
