A critical review of comparative acute toxicity data on freshwater fish
TLDR
Fathead minnow was the most resistant species in practically all the available comparisons and no dependence of the selective toxicity on the n-octanol/water partition coefficient of the chemicals could be observed.About:

The zebrafish as a model system in developmental, toxicological and transgenic research.
Zsolt Lele,Patrick H. Krone +1 more
TL;DR: The zebrafish has long been used as a model system in fisheries biology and toxicology and has proven attractive in studies examining the factors which affect the creation of transgenic fish and the expression of transgenes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Zebrafish as a model for developmental neurotoxicity testing
TL;DR: The results showed a strong correlation with mammalian data and suggest that zebrafish is a predictive animal model for neurotoxicity screening and is useful in determining whether a compound causes specific neurotoxicity or general developmental toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcriptional profiling reveals barcode-like toxicogenomic responses in the zebrafish embryo
Lixin Yang,Jules R Kemadjou,Christian Zinsmeister,Matthias Bauer,Jessica Legradi,Ferenc Müller,Michael J. Pankratz,Jens Jäkel,Uwe Strähle +8 more
TL;DR: This work provides proof-of-principle for the use of the zebrafish embryo as a toxicogenomic model and highlights its potential for systematic, large-scale analysis of the effects of chemicals on the developing vertebrate embryo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of diazinon on acetylcholinesterase activity and lipid peroxidation in the brain of Oreochromis niloticus.
TL;DR: It is shown that diazinon inhibited AChE activity and it has LPO-inducing potential in fish and the inhibition of A cholinesterase activity in the brain of O. niloticus correlated with increased MDA levels after 7 and 15 days diaz inon exposures.

Measuring and Estimating the Bioconcentration Factor of Chemicals in Fish
TL;DR: In this article, a method of estimating the bioconcentration factor of organic chemicals in fathead minnows (Pimephales promelas) was described, where water at 25 °C was intermittently dosed with the chemical at a nontoxi...
