TLDR
The proposed receiver is suitable for broadband wireless systems, with performances that can be close to the single-user MFB (Matched Filter Bound), even for fully loaded systems and/or in the presence of strong interfering signals.Abstract:
In this paper we consider the uplink transmission within CP-assisted (Cyclic Pre x) DS-CDMA (Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access) systems and we present a frequency-domain MUD (MultiUser Detection) receiver with iterative estimation and compensation of residual frequency errors. The proposed receiver is suitable for broadband wireless systems, with performances that can be close to the single-user MFB (Matched Filter Bound), even for fully loaded systems and/or in the presence of strong interfering signals. The receiver is powerful enough for typical asynchronous scenarios, requiring only a coarse synchronization between users.read more

Performance Analysis of an Hybrid ARQ Adaptation of NDMA Schemes
TL;DR: This paper proposes a mechanism for multi-packet reception, called hybrid-ARQ NDMA (H-NDMA), a gated slotted random access protocol, where the access mechanism forces the terminals involved in a collision with reception errors to transmit more than P times.

A technique for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing frequency offset correction
TL;DR: It is shown, and confirmed by simulation, that to maintain signal-to-interference ratios of 20 dB or greater for the OFDM carriers, offset is limited to 4% or less of the intercarrier spacing.

Frequency domain equalization for single-carrier broadband wireless systems
TL;DR: This article surveys frequency domain equalization (FDE) applied to single-carrier (SC) modulation solutions and discusses similarities and differences of SC and OFDM systems and coexistence possibilities, and presents examples of SC-FDE performance capabilities.

Exploitation of spectral redundancy in cyclostationary signals
TL;DR: It is shown that the cyclostationarity attribute, as it is reflected in the periodicities of (second-order) moments of the signal, can be interpreted in terms of the property that allows generation of spectral lines from the signal by putting it through a (quadratic) nonlinear transformation.

Block iterative DFE for single carrier modulation
Nevio Benvenuto,Stefano Tomasin +1 more
TL;DR: An iterative block decision feedback equaliser (IB-DFE) for single carrier modulation is proposed which operates on blocks of the receive signal, thus allowing the use of error correction codes on the feedback data signal.

Comparison of two modulation choices for broadband wireless communications
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of single-carrier (SC) and multicarrier (MC) modulation schemes for broadband wireless communications is presented, by considering a similar frequency-domain equalization in both cases, and then by adding the impact of channel coding and amplification issues.
