Spark Architecture for deep learning-based dose optimization in medical imaging

TL;DR: The proposed architecture based on DL enables faster processing of biomedical CT imagery as compared with prior methods described in the literature and shows that it can reduce the radiation dose and improve the quality of the captured image.
Journal ArticleDOI

Image Generation: A Review

TL;DR: This paper presents the first comprehensive overview of existing image generation methods, based on the nature of the adopted algorithms, type of data used, and main objective, and each image generation category is discussed by presenting the proposed approaches.

Optimal Model Mapping for Intravoxel Incoherent Motion MRI.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an optimal model mapping method to improve the reliability of the perfusion parameter estimation in the IVIM-MRI study, which was applied at 17 b-values ranging from 0 to 2,500 s/mm2.

A comparative study of kernel-based vector machines with probabilistic outputs for medical diagnosis

TL;DR: The extensive empirical study illustrates that the SVM classifier using the tuning-free GMM kernel (SVM-GMM) shows good usability and broad applicability, and exhibits competitive performance against some state-of-the-art methods.

Neutral expression synthesis using kernel active shape model

TL;DR: A method of a modified kernel-based active shape model based on statistical-based approach is introduced to synthesize neutral (neutralize) expressions from expressional faces, with the aim to improve the face recognition rate.

A method for the solution of certain non – linear problems in least squares

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of least square problems with non-linear normal equations is solved by an extension of the standard method which insures improvement of the initial solution, which can also be considered an extension to Newton's method.

MR imaging of intravoxel incoherent motions: application to diffusion and perfusion in neurologic disorders.

TL;DR: A magnetic resonance (MR) method to image intravoxel incoherent motions (IVIMs) by using appropriate gradient pulses and nonuniform slow flow of cerebrospinal fluid appeared as a useful feature on IVIM images.

Separation of diffusion and perfusion in intravoxel incoherent motion MR imaging.

TL;DR: Clinical results showed significant promise of the IVIM method for tissue characterization by perfusion patterns and for functional studies in the evaluation of the microcirculation in physiologic and pathologic conditions, as, for instance, in brain ischemia.

The rician distribution of noisy mri data

TL;DR: The image intensity in magnetic resonance magnitude images in the presence of noise is shown to be governed by a Rician distribution and low signal intensities (SNR < 2) are therefore biased due to the noise.
