Journal ArticleDOI

Random-field model for ferroelectric domain dynamics and polarization reversal

TL;DR: In this paper, a new concept of polarization reversal and domain dynamics in modified ferroelectrics is presented, where clusters with a reversed polarization within ferroelectric domains are nucleated under applied field in the vicinity of random fields around quenched defects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Symmetry-adaptive ferroelectric mesostates in oriented Pb(BI1/3BII2/3)O3–PbTiO3 crystals

TL;DR: An intermediate orthorhombic ferroelectric phase has been found in oriented crystals of (0.92)Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 −0.08PbTiO3 (PZN-PT 92/8) as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incipient piezoelectrics and electrostriction behavior in Sn-doped Bi1/2(Na0.82K0.18)1/2TiO3 lead-free ceramics

TL;DR: In this article, a crossover from a nonergodic relaxor to an ergodic relaxor state at room temperature, accompanied by a giant electric-field-induced strain, was observed at 5 at. % Sn doping.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of quenched disorder on La-modified lead zirconate titanate: Long- and short-range ordered structurally incommensurate phases, and glassy polar clusters

TL;DR: In this paper, the La-modified lead zirconate titanate (PLZT) solution was investigated as a function of quenched La impurity content and Zr/Ti ratio by transmission electron microscopy, lattice imaging, and dielectric spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dielectric relaxation in Ba-based layered perovskites

TL;DR: In this paper, stoichiometric dense BaBi2Nb2O9 (BBN) ceramics are sintered using a mixed oxide route and dielectric and ferroelectric properties are investigated in a broad range of temperatures and frequencies.
