TLDR
In this article, the pyrene fluorescence lifetime τ 0 and the ratio I 1I 3 of the first and third bands of pyrene monomer fluorescence spectrum appear to indicate that only one type of mixed micelle exists in the mixed systems LiDS, C12E6LiFOS, and C 12E8.

Adsorption of organic molecules on silica surface.

TL;DR: The adsorption behaviour of various organic adsorbates on silica surface is reviewed and some natural macromolecules like proteins and nucleic acids are investigated to study the hydrophobic and hydrophilic binding sites of silica.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluorescence methods in the study of the interactions of surfactants with polymers

TL;DR: A review of the application of fluorescence techniques to study polymer-surfactant systems can be found in this article, where various methods and materials in use are discussed, with particular emphasis on the study of the complexes formed between surfactants and hydrophobically-modified polymers.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of RGD fluorosurfactant polymer modification of ePTFE on endothelial cell adhesion, growth, and function.

TL;DR: The results indicate successful synthesis and surface modification with PFSP; this is a simple, quantitative, and effective approach to modifying ePTFE to encourage endothelial cell attachment, growth, and function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unusual phenomena in perfluorosurfactants

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that a considerable share of the different micellar phases that potentially exist in surfactant solutions can be formed with a single perfluoro-surfactant by adding different additives to the same starting solution.

Theory of self-assembly of hydrocarbon amphiphiles into micelles and bilayers

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple theory is developed that accounts for many of the observed physical properties of micelles, both globular and rod-like, and of bilayer vesicles composed of ionic or zwitterionic amphiphiles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Environmental effects on vibronic band intensities in pyrene monomer fluorescence and their application in studies of micellar systems

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that in the presence of polar solvents, there is a significant enhancement in the intensity of the 0-0 vibronic band at the expense of other bands.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of a generating function to reaction kinetics in micelles. kinetics of quenching of luminescent probes in micelles.

TL;DR: In this paper, a rigorous treatment of the kinetics of the quenching of luminescent probes in micelles using a generating function is presented, and the authors show that the generated function can be used to obtain a more robust quencher.
