An analytical study on interfacial wave structure between the liquid film and gas core in a vertical tube

TLDR
In this paper, a model for interfacial wave propagation for a liquid film on the wall of a vertical pipe and for a flowing gas in the central core was derived for a flat interface, and for traveling waves on the interface.

Taylor Flow in Microchannels: A Review of Experimental and Computational Work:

TL;DR: This review introduces the important attributes of two phase flow in microchannels and then focuses on the Taylor flow regime, which is the most common flow regime encountered in many modern chemical plants.

Upward vertical two-phase flow local flow regime identification using neural network techniques

TL;DR: In this paper, a self-organized neural network was used to identify both global and local flow regimes in a two-phase upward flow in a 50.8 mm internal diameter pipe under adiabatic conditions.

Primary instabilities of liquid film flow sheared by turbulent gas stream

TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of excited waves on a viscous liquid film has been investigated experimentally for the annular gas-liquid flow in a vertical tube for the first time.

Progress in understanding and modelling of annular two-phase flows with heat transfer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the recent progress in understanding and modelling of the governing phenomena of annular two-phase flow and heat transfer and pave a path to mechanistic modelling of dryout and post-dryout heat transfer applicable to nuclear fuel assemblies.

Assessment of closure relations on the numerical predictions of vertical annular flows with the two-fluid model

TL;DR: In this article, different closure relations in the one-dimensional two-fluid model were investigated in order to assess the effect on the numerical simulation of vertical annular flows, including the formation and propagation of waves at the gas-liquid interface.

Mathematical solution of the problem of roll-waves in inclined opel channels

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that discontinuous periodic solutions can be constructed by joining together sections of a continuous solution through shocks (or "bores") and that only one special continuous solution can be used as the basis for constructing discontinuous continuous solutions.
