An infra-red-deuteration study of the melting and quenching of nylon 6.6

- Vol. 8, pp 1-7
TLDR
In this paper, an infra-red (i.r.) and deuteration study of films of nylon 6.6 that have been melted and quenched was performed. The i.r. spectra indicated that the disorder in the quenches film increases with increasing length of time in the molten condition, and with increasing temperature of the melt.

Crystal structures in polyamides made from ω‐amino acids

TL;DR: The crystal structures of polyamides made from ω-aminocarboxylic acids have been studied at room temperature by x-ray diffraction as discussed by the authors, and it is found that the amino acid polymers fall into two main groups.

A new method for following rapid rates of crystallization I. Poly(hexamethylene adipamide)

J.H. Magill
- 01 Jan 1961 -
TL;DR: In this paper, a new technique is described for following rates of crystallization in birefringent systems, which consists, essentially, in following the increase in depolarization of plane-polarized light by the crystallizing specimen.

Crystallization phenomena in fibre-forming polymers†

TL;DR: In this article, it is considered that lateral accretion of the polymer molecules to the already formed long helical polymer-crystal results in haphazard branching growth with the new fibril developing along a path parallel to the parent crystal.

Crystallization kinetics study of nylon 6

J.H. Magill
- 01 Jan 1962 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured spherulite growth rates in undried nylon 6 using a cine-camera technique and calculated molecular parameters governing the crystallization behavior using the plausible concept of two-dimensional surface nucleation on a primary threedimensional nucleus.
