Analytical solution to the dynamic analysis of laminated beams using higher order refined theory

TLDR
In this article, a higher-order refined theory for composite and sandwich beams is presented, which incorporates cubic axial, transverse shear and quadratic transverse normal strain components in the basic formulation, thus modeling the warping of cross section accurately and eliminating the need for a shear correction coefficient.

Analytical solutions for free vibration of laminated composite and sandwich plates based on a higher-order refined theory

TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical formulation and solutions to the natural frequency analysis of simply supported composite and sandwich plates based on a higher-order refined theory developed by the first author and already reported in the literature are presented.

Bending, buckling and free vibration of laminated composite and sandwich beams: A critical review of literature

TL;DR: A critical review of literature on bending, buckling and free vibration analysis of shear deformable isotropic, laminated composite and sandwich beams based on equivalent single layer theories, layerwise theories, zig-zag theories and exact elasticity solution is presented in this paper.

Vibrations of straight and curved composite beams: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review most of the research done in recent years (1989-2012) on the vibration analysis of composite beams, with emphasis given to the theory being applied (thin, thick, layerwise), methods for solving equations (finite element analysis, differential transform and others) experimental methods, smart beams (piezoelectric or shape memory), complicating effects in both material and structure, and other areas that have been considered in research.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elasticity solution for free vibration of laminated beams

TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach combining the state space method and the differential quadrature method is presented for freely vibrating laminated beams, which can cope with arbitrary boundary conditions without applying Saint-Venant's principle.

Unified formulation applied to free vibrations finite element analysis of beams with arbitrary section

TL;DR: In this paper, the Carrera Unified Formulation for free vibrations analysis of beam with arbitrary section geometries is presented. And the displacement components are expanded in terms of the section coordinates, (x, y), using a set of 1-D generalized displacement variables.

LXVI. On the correction for shear of the differential equation for transverse vibrations of prismatic bars

TL;DR: In this article, the correction for shear of the differential equation for transverse vibrations of prismatic bars is discussed, where the correction is based on the correction of the transverse vibration of a prismatic bar.

Exact solutions for rectangular bidirectional composites and sandwich plates

TL;DR: In this article, three-dimensional elasticity solutions for rectangular laminates with pinned edges are constructed for three dimensional elasticity problems, including a sandwich plate, and compared to the analogous results in classical laminated plate theory.
