A comprehensive review on the applications of waste tire rubber in cement concrete
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an overview of some of the research published regarding the fresh and hardened properties of rubberized concrete and show that there is a promising future for the use of waste tire rubber as a partial substitute for aggregate in cement concrete.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical and durability properties of waste rubber fiber concrete with and without silica fume
TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic experimental investigation is carried out on concrete with rubber fibers (obtained by grinding waste rubber tyres) as partial replacement of fine aggregates, to evaluate the compressive strength, density, water permeability, static modulus of elasticity, dynamic modulus, and chloride diffusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of mechanical and durability properties of crumb rubber concrete
Kunal Bisht,P.V. Ramana +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an effort has been made to reduce this problem by utilizing waste rubber in the form of crumb rubber in Portland pozzolana cement concrete as a substitute of fine aggregates in varied percentages.

Scrap-tyre-rubber replacement for aggregate and filler in concrete
TL;DR: In this article, the performance of concrete mixtures incorporating 5%, 7.5% and 10% of discarded tyre rubber as aggregate and cement replacements was investigated, and the results showed that with up to 5% replacement, in each set, no major changes on concrete characteristics would occur, however, with further increase in replacement ratios considerable changes were observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of tire rubber particles as addition to cement paste
N Segre,Inés Joekes +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the surface modification of powdered tire rubber to increase its adhesion to cement paste was studied and the results of fracture energy and flexural and compressive strength showed that the addition of rubber particles improves the toughness and reduces the porosity of the specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical properties of concrete containing a high volume of tire-rubber particles.
TL;DR: Ulasonic analysis reveals large reductions in the ultrasonic modulus and high sound absorption for tire-rubber concrete, and a significant decrease in the brittle behavior of concrete with increasing rubber content is also demonstrated using nonlinearity indices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of rubberized concretes containing silica fume
TL;DR: In this article, a test program was carried out to develop information about the mechanical properties of rubberized concretes with and without silica fume, which were obtained by partially replacing the aggregate with rubber contents varying from 2.5% to 50% by total aggregate volume.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical, Fracture, and Microstructural Investigations of Rubber Concrete
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of incorporating tire rubber particles on the fracture performance of rubber concrete is investigated and the choice of the optimal replacement ratio of the tire rubber particle can yield concretes with desirable strength and fracture toughness criteria for different applications.
