Effects of grain size and texture on stress corrosion cracking of friction stir processed AZ80 magnesium alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of grain size and texture on the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of friction stir processed AZ80 magnesium alloy were investigated, and the results showed that finegrained (FG) and coarse-grained(CG) specimens with the average grain size of 2.7 and 7.1 μm was obtained via friction stir processing (FSP) underwater and in air, respectively.

PEO coating containing copper: A promising anticorrosive and antifouling coating for seawater application of AA 7075

TL;DR: In this paper, the antifouling properties in seawater of copper containing PEO coating, produced on AA 7075, were studied. And the results showed that the PEO coated samples containing copper powder exhibited ant-fouling effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

A mechanistic investigation of corrosion-driven organic coating failure on magnesium and its alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the failure mechanism of model organic coatings from Mg alloy surfaces is characterized by a combination in-situ scanning Kelvin probe analysis and time-lapse photography, showing that hydrogen evolution comprises the predominant underfilm cathodic reaction.

Risk assessment of the corrosion resistance performances for epoxy coatings under drilling environments using AHP method

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive evaluation model for the laboratory tested or exposed internal drilling coating systems based on five types of failure modes which were often observable and measureable; then, the model was verified by the test of electrochemical impedance spectroscopies.
