Effect of chrysotherapy on the lower gastrointestinal tract: a review.

TL;DR: Recent reports of loose stools and diarrhea associated with gold therapy are reviewed to determine the severity, incidence, and possible mechanism of this reaction, and to place in perspective the lower GI side effects of auranofin compared with injectable gold.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vitamin A and tumor recurrence in bladder cancer.

TL;DR: Results from an investigation concerning the effects of vitamin A on tumor recurrence in a group of 102 patients having early-stage bladder cancer are encouraging, but larger data sets need to be assembled and analyzed before any definitive conclusions can be reached.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hodgkin's disease treated with radiation therapy: follow-up data and the value of laparotomy.

TL;DR: During the years 1958-1969, 123 patients with Stage I, II and IIIA Hodgkin's disease were treated with radical radiation therapy in the Department of Radiation Therapy at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, a high degree of splenic involvement that was unsuspected clinically has been found.
Journal ArticleDOI

Equine encephalitis vaccine studies in pheasants under epizootic and pre-epizootic conditions.

TL;DR: Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) occurs with sufficient frequency to pose a serious economic problem to breeders of ring-necked pheasants in New Jersey and, perhaps, in other highly endemic areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Postoperative radiation therapy for carcinoma of the breast: improved results with elective irradiation of the chest wall.

TL;DR: Postoperative irradiation of the chest wall imparts additional survival advantage to a significant percentage of patients treated by radical surgery, implying that microscopic residual disease within the soft tissues of the breast can metastasize without necessarily manifesting as regionally recurrent disease.
