Journal ArticleDOI

The natural history of mammary carcinoma

TL;DR: The available data do not support the notion of "early" diagnosis of breast cancer, but classical radical mastectomy remains useful in curing the curable and ameliorating the incurable.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carcinoma of the esophagus: Sites of recurrence and palliative benefits after definitive radiotherapy

TL;DR: An analysis of sites of failure in both early and late stage patients revealed that control of local disease in Stage I was good; only 25% of patients developed local failure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell kinetics in leukaemia and solid tumours studied with in vivo bromodeoxyuridine and flow cytometry.

TL;DR: Data indicate the in vivo BUDR infusion coupled with FCM measurements can be performed in clinical settings to obtain kinetic data rapidly in quite large patient series, which will probably allow the inclusion of kinetic data in clinical trials aimed at evaluating the prognostic relevance of these data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cure by age and stage at diagnosis for colorectal cancer patients in North West England, 1997–2004: A population-based study

TL;DR: Cure of colorectal cancer patients is dependent on stage and age at diagnosis with younger patients or those with less advanced disease having a better prognosis, and further efforts are required to reduce the proportion of patients presenting with stage III and IV disease and ultimately increase the chance of cure.
