TLDR
In this paper, a polymeric membrane based on nitrogen containing calixarene derivatives was used as an indicator electrode in titrations of Ag+ with Cl− ions, which achieved a good Nernstian response of 49 −53 mV decade−1 for silver in the activity range 5×10−6 −5×10 −2 M, the limit of detection reached 10−5.6 M and exhibited high selectivity towards alkali, alkaline earth and transition metal ions.

Lipophilic and immobilized anionic additives in solvent polymeric membranes of cation-selective chemical sensors

TL;DR: In this paper, lipophilic borate salts are used as anionic additives in potentiometric and optical cation-selective sensors based on solvent polymeric membranes, which is attributed to their strong association with positively charged species in the membrane phase.
