Chemical changes of organic compounds in chlorinated water. XIV. Characterization and determination of halogenated organics formed during chlorination of water from the Tama River.

TLDR
Gas chromatographic analyses of n-hexane extracts demonstrated that chlorine treatment of river-water not only produces, in addition to THMs, new lower-molecular-weight and chromatographiable organic halogen compounds (COX), but also decomposes the original halogenated organics present.

Formation, evolution and modeling of trihalomethanes in the drinking water of a town: I. At the municipal treatment utilities

TL;DR: In this paper, the formation and evolution of THM levels were studied on 11 different dates and the values obtained were correlated statistically with the following parameters: concentration of humic acids (only raw water), pre- and postchlorination dosages, UV absorbance (UV-254), pH and temperature.

Formation, evolution and modeling of trihalomethanes in the drinking water of a town. II. In the distribution system

TL;DR: In this paper, six sampling points located at different distances, two by two (near-far), from the three main supply reservoirs, were selected in the distribution system of the drinking water network of the city of Salamanca in order to follow the evolution of trihalomethanes (THMs).
