Condition-based maintenance: tools and decision making

TLDR
In this paper, a wide variety of techniques commonly used to monitor the condition of mechanical systems are surveyed, and some of the decision models designed to address this type of inspection problem are discussed.
Abstract
The primary objective of equipment maintenance programmes is to preserve system functions in a cost‐effective manner. Surveys a wide variety of techniques commonly used to monitor the condition of mechanical systems. Reviews some of the decision models designed to address this type of inspection problem; concludes with some suggestions for future research directions in this type of decision problem.

Nonlinear autoregressive with exogenous input neural network for structural damage detection under ambient vibration

Sarehati Umar
TL;DR: In this paper, a nonlinear autoregressive with exogenous inputs (NARX) model is proposed to detect structural damage under ambient vibration in a structural data set, where each sensor cluster is represented by a time-series model, which is developed via artificial neural network (ANN) using undamaged acceleration data.

An Alternative Maintenance Technique to Improve the Maintenance Decisions of Production Machine System

TL;DR: The implementation model of decision support by adopting the OBM technique namely output-based decision support maintenance model (OBDSMM) is presented and the OBDSMM is validated via a real case study carried out at pulp manufacturing industry.
