TLDR
The early results of the use of the MR specific contrast medium gadolinium-DTPA in 40 patients with intracranial tumours are reported and the clinical significance of the application of contrast agents in the diagnosis of brain tumours is evaluated.
Abstract
The early results of the use of the MR specific contrast medium gadolinium-DTPA in 40 patients with intracranial tumours are reported. Optimal pulse sequences, contrast dose and timing are discussed. The relationship between the blood-brain barrier and contrast distribution within tumour tissue is elaborated. The clinical significance of the application of contrast agents in the diagnosis of brain tumours is evaluated.

Cystic vestibular schwannomas: neuroimaging and growth rate.

TL;DR: Data on cystic VS attenuation demonstrated by CT or MRI is provided which may be valuable in neuroradiological diagnosis of these cystic lesions and emphasizes that the wait-and-see policy should not be applied to the cystic variant of VS.

Imaging of Acoustic Neuromas

TL;DR: Currently, a gadolinium-enhanced MRI scan is considered an accurate indicator of whether or not an individual has an acoustic neuroma, although there have been false-positive enhanced MRI scans recently reported.

Effects of contrast agent on water suppression and shimming of kidney single-volume proton MR spectroscopy at 3.0T.

TL;DR: Gd-DTPA exerts adverse effects on water suppression and shimming, both of which show a trend of becoming well gradually with time extension after the injection of Gd- DTPA, which limits the diagnostic use of kidney magnetic resonance spectroscopy performed immediately after contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.

Technique of CT and MR Examinations

TL;DR: The three original groups participating in this study used the E MI Mark I scanner from 1975 to the middle of 1977 and the EMI CT 1010 scanner after mid-1977, while the Siemens Somatom DR has been used in Augsburg and Berlin since 1983 and the Philips Tomoscan CT 350 in Mainz since mid-1986.
