Abstract
In this paper we are concerned with the practical issues of working with data sets common to finance, statistics, and other related fields. pandas is a new library which aims to facilitate working with these data sets and to provide a set of fundamental building blocks for implementing statistical models. We will discuss specific design issues encountered in the course of developing pandas with relevant examples and some comparisons with the R language. We conclude by discussing possible future directions for statistical computing and data analysis using Python.

Variants in SARS-CoV-2 Associated with Mild or Severe Outcome

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors download 155,958 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) genomes from GISAID and evaluated whether variants improved prediction of reported severity beyond age and region.

REMoDNaV: Robust Eye-Movement Classification for Dynamic Stimulation

TL;DR: An event classification algorithm—built on an existing velocity-based approach—that is suitable for both static and dynamic stimulation, and is capable of classifying saccades, post-saccadic oscillations, fixations, and smooth pursuit events is presented.

Biomaterialomics: Data Science-driven Pathways to develop fourth-Generation Biomaterials.

TL;DR: In this paper , a Data Science-driven approach is envisioned to bring together on a single platform, the computational tools, databases, experimental methods, machine learning, and advanced manufacturing (e.g., 3D printing) to develop the fourth-generation biomaterials and implants, whose clinical performance will be predicted using "digital twins".

Search for globular clusters associated with the Milky Way dwarf galaxies using Gaia DR2

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the results of searching for globular clusters (GCs) around 55 satellite dwarf galaxies within the distance of 450 kpc from the Galactic Center except for the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds and the Sagittarius dwarf.
