Detection of seepage paths in earth dams using self-potential and electrical resistivity methods

TLDR
In this paper, the authors used electrical resistivity method to delineate zones favorable for seepage, whereas, self-potential (SP) method was used to determine the path of seepages.

Streaming potentials of granular media: Influence of the Dukhin and Reynolds numbers

TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between the streaming potential coupling coefficient and the grain size is defined by the values of two dimensionless numbers, the Dukhin and the Reynolds numbers.

Resistivity monitoring for leakage and internal erosion detection at Hallby embankment dam

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used time-lapse inversion to focus the variation over time and suppress artefacts due to the resistivity structure of Hallby dam, and found that increasing long term resistivity has been noticed in a particular zone in the left embankment.

Crossline resistivity tomography for the delineation of anomalous seepage pathways in an embankment dam

TL;DR: Crossline resistivity tomography was developed to find out anomalous seepage pathways in an embankment dam as mentioned in this paper, which yields relatively accurate geoelectric structure of the dam when applied to synthetic data.

TL;DR: In this article, a study using an analytical technique based on concepts of irreversible thermodynamics indicates that, for a simple spherical source model, potentials generated by electrokinetic coupling may be of greater amplitude than those developed by thermoelectric coupling.

Introduction to ground surface self-potential tomography†

TL;DR: In this article, a new approach to self-potential (SP) data interpretation for the recognition of a buried causative SP source system is presented, which is characterized by the presence of primary electric sources or sinks, located within any complex resistivity structure with a flat air-earth boundary.
