TLDR
In this paper, the manufacturing, processing, joining, finishing, and application of dispersion-strengthened aluminum alloys fro aluminum powder are discussed, and the mechanical and physical properties, structure, and relationship between mechanical properties and structure are given.
Abstract
The manufacture, processing, joining, finishing, and application of dispersion-strengthened aluminum alloys fro aluminum powder are discussed. The mechanical and physical properties, structure, and the relationship between mechanical properties and structure are given for the alloys. (N.W.R.)

Reaction kinetics of an Al-Co intermetallic in Al-9Ti/SiC particle-reinforced composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction kinetics of an Al−Co intermetallic compound which forms around clumped cobalt sol-gel-coated SiC-reinforcing particles in an Al-9Ti matrix composite were studied over the temperature range of 500 °C to 600 °C.

Use of surface replication, extraction replication, and thin-film electron microscopy in the study of dispersion-strengthened materials

TL;DR: The use of surface replication, extraction replication, and thin film electron microscopy in study of microstructures of dispersion strengthened materials has been shown to be useful in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

An overview of planar flow casting of thin metallic glasses and its relation to slot coating of liquid films

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed how PFC processes were developed, examined the typical operability range of PFC, and reviewed the defects that commonly form, and highlighted differences between the operability ranges of both processes.

Producción de materiales compuestos AA2124/MoSi 2 /25p y efecto del tratamiento térmico sobre su microestructura, dureza y propiedades a compresión

TL;DR: In this paper, as-extruded and heat treated composite bars were studied microstructurally and mechanically (hardness and compression tests under quasistatic loading) by scanning electron microscopy and the reaction products formed in the matrix were identified by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of si addition on mechanical alloying behavior and creep properties of Al-10Ti-xSi alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, fine Si particles were observed to be distributed in the Al(Ti) matrix due to both the negligible solid solubility of Si in the matrix and the weaker chemical interaction of Si with Al, as compared with Ti.
