Powder Forging Processing of Rapidly Solidified Aluminum Alloy Powders

TL;DR: In this paper, powder forged Al-Si and Al-Fe base alloys were prepared using double action forging press and the mechanical properties were examined, and it was confirmed that the double-action forging gave good metallurgical bonding between powders by efficient dispersion of surface oxides even the amount of plastic deformation is relatively low.

An Overview of Planar Flow Casting of Thin Metallic Glasses and its Relation to Slot Coating of Liquid Films

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed how PFC processes were developed, examined the typical operability range of PFC, and reviewed the defects that commonly form, and highlighted differences between the operability ranges of both processes.

Accelerated Threshold Fatigue Crack Growth Effect-Powder Metallurgy Aluminum Alloy

TL;DR: In this article, a fractographic analysis correlates the formation of crack-tip process zone micro-void damage with increased levels of K(sub max) (K(submax) = 0.4 k(sub IC) for a fine grain powder metallurgy (PM) aluminum alloy.

Morphological features of the crystalline or quasicrystalline silicides observed in the quaternary Al-Fe-Mo-Si alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the microstructures observed in both as-atomized and consolidated states of Al12-13(Fe,Mo)3Si powders were analyzed using X-ray diffraction.

Oxide-dispersion-strengthened aluminium

TL;DR: In this paper, dispersion strengthened aluminium has been produced by mechanical alloying with a mixture of Al2O3 and TiO2 disperoids, which exhibited good combinations of strength and ductility at room and high temperatures.
