A manufacturer's extended producer responsibility for environment management cannot be fulfilled without the participation of end consumers. Therefore, the present study aims to explore the role of consumers in recycling programs of end of life mobile phones. Based on the theory of planned behavior, hypotheses were developed for which data was collected from 746 respondents and a two staged structural equation modelling‐artificial neural network was applied. Both techniques generated similar results which provides validation of the hypothesized relationships. Based on the findings, results are discussed and accordingly policy implications are recommended.read more

The role of technology innovation and renewable energy in reducing environmental degradation in Malaysia: A step towards sustainable environment
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employed the bootstrapped autoregressive distributed lag (BARDL) model for scrutinizing the connection between environmental degradation proxies and showed that the consumption of renewable energy helps to reduce the level of environmental degradation.

Renewable energy transition and environmental sustainability through economic complexity in BRICS countries: Fresh insights from novel Method of Moments Quantile regression
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explored the roles of economic complexity and renewable energy in pollution alleviation and precisely in alleviating carbon emissions in the BRICS countries and found that economic complexity leads to renewable energy transition, which reduces carbon emissions more pronouncedly.

The theory of planned behavior
TL;DR: Ajzen, 1985, 1987, this article reviewed the theory of planned behavior and some unresolved issues and concluded that the theory is well supported by empirical evidence and that intention to perform behaviors of different kinds can be predicted with high accuracy from attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control; and these intentions, together with perceptions of behavioral control, account for considerable variance in actual behavior.

A new criterion for assessing discriminant validity in variance-based structural equation modeling
TL;DR: In this paper, the heterotrait-monotrait ratio of correlations is used to assess discriminant validity in variance-based structural equation modeling. But it does not reliably detect the lack of validity in common research situations.

Sources of Method Bias in Social Science Research and Recommendations on How to Control It
TL;DR: The meaning of the terms "method" and "method bias" are explored and whether method biases influence all measures equally are examined, and the evidence of the effects that method biases have on individual measures and on the covariation between different constructs is reviewed.

The use of partial least squares path modeling in international marketing
TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted an exhaustive literature review to determine the status quo of PLS path modeling in international marketing research and found that more than 30 academic articles in the domain of international marketing used PLS as a means of statistical analysis.

Normative Influences on Altruism
TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical model of personal normative influences on altruism is presented, which suggests that altruistic behavior is causally influenced by feelings of moral obligation to act on one's personally held norms.
