MPCA: Multilinear Principal Component Analysis of Tensor Objects

TL;DR: It is shown that even without a fully optimized design, an MPCA-based gait recognition module achieves highly competitive performance and compares favorably to the state-of-the-art gait recognizers.

Gait Recognition Using Radon Transform and Linear Discriminant Analysis

TL;DR: A new feature extraction process is proposed for gait representation and recognition based on the Radon transform of binary silhouettes, using a low-dimensional feature vector consisting of selected Radon template coefficients for each gait sequence.

Gait energy volumes and frontal gait recognition using depth images

TL;DR: This paper extends the concept of the GEI to 3D, to create what it is called the gait energy volume, or GEV, and demonstrates the efficacy of this approach on partial volume reconstructions created from frontal depth images.

Gait Recognition Using Compact Feature Extraction Transforms and Depth Information

TL;DR: This paper proposes an innovative gait identification and authentication method based on the use of novel 2-D and 3-D features using the generalized radon transform, namely the radial integration transform and the circular integration transform.

A tutorial on hidden Markov models and selected applications in speech recognition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide an overview of the basic theory of hidden Markov models (HMMs) as originated by L.E. Baum and T. Petrie (1966) and give practical details on methods of implementation of the theory along with a description of selected applications of HMMs to distinct problems in speech recognition.

Dynamic programming algorithm optimization for spoken word recognition

TL;DR: This paper reports on an optimum dynamic progxamming (DP) based time-normalization algorithm for spoken word recognition, in which the warping function slope is restricted so as to improve discrimination between words in different categories.
