TLDR
The approach of this book to geochemistry can be summarized in the question: What happens, and how fast does it happen, when waters, solids, and gases interact in the earth's surface environment? The environment of the earths surface is made of solids and fluids, and the interactions among them are responsible for much of what is taking place in the physical world around us as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract
The approach of this book to geochemistry can be summarized in the question: What happens, and how fast does it happen, when waters, solids, and gases interact in the earths surface environment? The environment of the earths surface is made of solids and fluids, and theinteractions among them are responsible for much of what is taking place in the physical world around us. The dissolved load of natural waters and the materials of which sediments are made are the products of reactions taking place practically everywhere on land, in the atmosphere, and in the hydrosphere. Thus the term water and sediment environments applies effectivelly to much of the surface environment of the earth, including the zone of up to a few kilometers above and below the land and ocean surface. Evolution present itself to us as a more or less complex variety of processes-geological, physical, chemical, and biological. To this end, the inclusive title Geochemical Processes was chosen for the book, to introduce a text that emphasizes processes and time-dependent phenomena.

Stabilization of Reclaimed Pavement Material and Road Surface Gravel with Coal Combustion Products

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a practical method to design local roadways using SRPM or SRSG as the base layer and Class C fly ash as the stabilizing agent in the context of the “gravel equivalency” (GE) design methodology employed for local roads in Minnesota.

Transport Models for Radioactive Carbon Dioxide at RWMC

TL;DR: In this article, the migration of carbon-14 as dissolved bicarbonate was studied using miscible displacement experiments in water-saturated columns containing sediments from Radioactive Waste Management Complex (RWMC).

Biogeochemical Process of Mercury in Reservoirs in the Main Stream of the Wujiang River

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated spatial and seasonal variations of Hg species in different sectors of reservoirs (e.g., water column, sediment, sediment pore water), and revealed the processes of methylation and their possible controlling factors in the reservoirs in the Wujiang River Basin, Southwest China.

RIETHM: Radioisotope Environmental Tracer Hydrology Model using exponential and dispersion methods

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for quantitative estimation of aquifer and ground-water hydrological parameters using radioactive environmental isotopes is presented in the form of a menu-driven interactive program, written to solve lumped parameter mathematical problems, using the EXCEL* software.
