TLDR
This is a survey on graph visualization and navigation techniques, as used in information visualization, which approaches the results of traditional graph drawing from a different perspective.
Abstract
This is a survey on graph visualization and navigation techniques, as used in information visualization. Graphs appear in numerous applications such as Web browsing, state-transition diagrams, and data structures. The ability to visualize and to navigate in these potentially large, abstract graphs is often a crucial part of an application. Information visualization has specific requirements, which means that this survey approaches the results of traditional graph drawing from a different perspective.

A focus+context visualization technique using semi-transparency

TL;DR: This paper describes a new 2D focus+context visualization technique for viewing and navigating large hierarchical information that uses a semi-transparency approach to display both the global and the detail views of the hierarchy with an overlapped manner in the same display space.

Visual Analysis and Knowledge Discovery for Text

TL;DR: It is argued that visual analysis, in combination with automatic knowledge discovery methods, provides several advantages, besides introducing human knowledge and visual pattern recognition into the analytical process, it provides the possibility to improve the performance of automatic methods through user feedback.

Temporal Network Embedding for Link Prediction via VAE Joint Attention Mechanism

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a temporal network embedding method based on the VAE framework (TVAE), which is based on a variational autoencoder (VAE) to capture the evolution of temporal networks for link prediction.
