Journal ArticleDOI

Advances in Polyimide-Based Materials for Space Applications.

TL;DR: In innovative preliminary results of a PI-based material processed by the PolyJet technology, the durability of PIs in AO is successfully increased by addition of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biocompatibility of Polyimides: A Mini-Review

TL;DR: Various PIs have the capacity to accommodate in vivo conditions in which they are able to function for a long time and can be judiciously certified as biocompatible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of Backbone Rigidity on the Photomechanical Response of Glassy, Azobenzene-Functionalized Polyimides

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of polymer backbone rigidity on the photomechanical response in a series of linear, azobenzene-functionalized polymers was examined, and it was shown that increasing the rigidity of the polymer backbone increases the magnitude of stress that is generated but decreases the angle of cantilever deflection.
Journal ArticleDOI

UV-Triggered Self-Healing of a Single Robust SiO2 Microcapsule Based on Cationic Polymerization for Potential Application in Aerospace Coatings

TL;DR: This work describes the first single robust SiO2 microcapsule self-healing system based on UV-triggered cationic polymerization for potential application in aerospace coatings and shows solvent resistance and thermal stability, especially a strong resistance for thermal cycling in a simulated space environment.
