Neuroimaging of classic neuralgic amyotrophy
TL;DR: HRUS and MRI are valuable diagnostic tools in NA and could change the diagnostic approach from one now focused on excluding other disorders to confirming NA through imaging markers, according to Muscle Nerve 54.

Ultrasonography shows extensive nerve enlargements in multifocal motor neuropathy
TL;DR: Using ultrasonography, multiple sites with nerve enlargement along the course of the brachial plexus, median, ulnar, and radial nerves in the majority of 21 patients with multifocal motor neuropathy are found.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Author Reply: Peripheral nerve hypertrophy in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy detected by ultrasonography
TL;DR: It is thought that ultrasonography of the peripheral nerves may facilitate the routine neurophysiological examination employing the inching method, and can be applied to the diagnosis of similar diseases in peripheral nerves and for evaluation of the effect of medication.

TL;DR: In this article, a multidimensional approach that involves several medical, social and psychological professionals in order to improve the quality of life of the patients and, where present, their relatives is presented.

Post-traumatic neuroma due to closed nerve injury. Is recovery after peripheral nerve trauma related to ultrasonographic neuroma size?
Daniele Coraci,Costanza Pazzaglia,Pietro Emiliano Doneddu,Carmen Erra,Ilaria Paolasso,Valter Santilli,Valter Santilli,Luca Padua +7 more
TL;DR: This study failed to clear detect a relation between cross sectional area enlargement of neuroma and nerve function, but showed a cut off beyond which prognosis is negative, nevertheless it provide some useful information for prognosis.

Peripheral nerve size in normals and patients with polyneuropathy: an ultrasound study.
TL;DR: It is found that NCSAs in healthy child and adult controls were greater with increasing height, at proximal sites, and at sites of entrapment, and that NCSA is generally larger in demyelinating than it is in axonal polyneuropathies.

Advances in the diagnosis, pathogenesis and treatment of CIDP.
TL;DR: Advances in the understanding of the underlying immunopathology in CIDP have identified new targets for future therapeutic efforts, including T cells, B cells, and transmigration and transduction molecules, including new target antigens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy: a prevalence study in south east England.
TL;DR: A wide difference in prevalence rates between the four health regions was noted, probably due to reporting bias, and a diagnosis of CIDP was made according to definite, probable, possible, or suggestive diagnostic criteria.

Prevalence of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy in New South Wales, Australia
TL;DR: A prevalence study of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy in New South Wales, Australia, with a prevalence day of August 6, 1996, which coincided with a national census, found the crude prevalence was higher in male patients than in female patients, and the age‐specific prevalence reached a maximum of 6.7 per 100,000 population in the 70‐ to 79‐year‐old age group.
