TLDR
In this paper, the reactions of cis-and trans-dichloroethylenes with H2 over platinum-on-alumina catalysts have been characterized, and it is assumed that olefinic chlorides are adsorbed on the catalyst as stabilized tautomers.

Palladium-silver sol-gel catalysts for selective hydrodechlorination of 1,2-dichloroethane into ethylene. I. Synthesis and characterization

TL;DR: In this article, low-density xerogel Pd-Ag/SiO2 catalysts were prepared by a cogelation of tetraethoxysilane with organically substituted alkoxides capable of forming chelates with palladium and silver ions.

Hydrodechlorination of aliphatic organochlorinated compounds over commercial hydrogenation catalysts

TL;DR: In this paper, eight commercial catalysts (Nickel-Raney, Ni on SiO2, Pd on alumina, Pt on both alumina and activated carbon, Rh on alumin, Ru and sulfided Ni-Mo on aluminina) were tested as catalysts for the hydrodechlorination of the six organochlorinated compounds that are released into the environment in the greatest amounts: dichloromethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, trich

Catalytic hydrodechlorination of chlorinated ethenes by nanoscale zero-valent iron

TL;DR: In this paper, the reduction of six chlorinated ethenes by nanoscale iron was investigated under five different conditions of initial dissolved hydrogen concentrations which varied from about 0.02 to 1.2 mM.

Vapour-phase hydrodehalogenation of chlorobenzene over platinum/H-BEA zeolite

TL;DR: Platinum/H-BEA zeolite and Pt/Al 2 O 3 were studied as catalysts in the vapour-phase hydrodehalogenation of chlorobenzene as discussed by the authors.

Characterisation and deactivation studies of sulfided red mud used as catalyst for the hydrodechlorination of tetrachloroethylene

TL;DR: In this paper, the deactivation of sulfided red mud as a catalyst for the hydrodechlorination of tetrachloroethylene at 100 bar and 350°C was studied.

A bond energy scheme for aliphatic and benzenoid compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a bond energy scheme based on the assumption that the energy of a CX bond depends on the hybridization state of the carbon atom.

The C–C Bond Energy in Ethylbenzene

TL;DR: In this article, the energy of activation and the frequency factor were estimated experimentally at 63.2 kcal/mole and 1.0·1013 sec, respectively, and using this value in conjunction with the value reported previously for D(C-H)C6H5·CH3 and the relevant thermochemical data, they calculated the D (C−H)CH4 at 102.9 kcal./mole.
