Routine laboratory surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in community-acquired urinary tract infections adequately informs prescribing policy in England.

TL;DR: Routine laboratory data resulted in a small overestimation in resistance (although the difference was not statistically significant) and the findings suggest that it provides an adequate estimate of non-susceptibility to key antimicrobials in community-acquired UTIs in England.

Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in general practice

TL;DR: Huisartsen kunnen bij vrouwen met klachten die wijzen op een blaasontsteking. as mentioned in this paper, the result of het proefschrift worden deels verwerkt in de herziene richtlijn Urineweginfectie van het Nederlands Huisartsens Genootschap.

Research article ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANT PATTERN OF FECAL ESCHERICHIA COLI IN SELECTED BROILER FARMS OF EASTERN HARARGE ZONE, ETHIOPIA.

TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted to determine the pattern of antimicrobial resistance in Escherichia coli isolated from Cloacal swab of broiler chickens in selected farms of Eastern Harrarge zone of Ethiopia.

Antibiotic sensitivity pattern in urinary tract infection among adults in central part of nepal

TL;DR: A usual pattern of UTI with higher prevalence among females and E. coli being the most common organism is found and Nitrofurantoin has been found to have a good susceptibility for the treatment ofUTI.

Klebsiella oxytoca Multiresistant as an Agent of Disseminated Dermatitis in a Dog

TL;DR: The first clinical case of disseminated dermatitis in a dog caused by K. oxytoca multidrug resistant is described, with remission of the symptoms after 23 days of associated amikacin and meropenem therapy.

Diagnosis and treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infection

TL;DR: The optimal treatment duration for acute uncomplicated pyelonephritis has not been established, but 10- to 14-day regimens are recommended, and patients prefer to use antimicrobials that attain high renal tissue levels, such as a fluoroquinolone, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, or an aminoglycoside for pyel onephritis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increasing prevalence of antimicrobial resistance among uropathogens causing acute uncomplicated cystitis in women.

TL;DR: While the prevalence of resistance to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, ampicillin, and cephalothin increased significantly among uropathogens causing acute cystitis, resistance to nitrofurantoin and ciprofloxacin remained infrequent.
