Influence of multipass pulsed gas metal arc welding on corrosion behaviour of a duplex stainless steel

TLDR
In this paper, the effect of secondary austenite (γ2) on corrosion resistance of welded joints was investigated using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, and the results were correlated with double loop electrochemical potentiodynamic reactivation (DL-EPR) and sulphide stress corrosion tests.

Effects of nitrogen in shielding gas on microstructure evolution and localized corrosion behavior of duplex stainless steel welding joint

TL;DR: The effects of nitrogen addition in shielding gas on microstructure evolution and localized corrosion behavior of duplex stainless steel (DSS) welds were studied in this paper, where 2% N 2 to pure Ar shielding gas improved the localized corrosion resistance in the DSS welds, which was due to compensation for nitrogen loss and promoting nitrogen further solution in the austenite phases.
