Abstract
A way of integrating the different information processing methods is discussed. The types of integrations are defined by the relations between the different information processing methods to be integrated. By classifying these methods the type of integration is classified. This discussion reveals the most feasible way of integrating the different schemes. It is a sequence of integrating the methods via knowledge processing. Based on this discussion two important types of integrations are studied.

The gap between symbol and non-symbol processing: an attempt to represent a database by predicate formulae

TL;DR: In this article, the gap between symbol processing and non-symbol processing is investigated and an intermediate form was introduced to represent both of them in the same framework, and the characteristics of these two methods of representation and processing are analyzed and compared.

The Gap between Symbol and Non-symbol Processing

TL;DR: The gap between symbol processing and non-symbol processing is investigated and the syntax of predicate logic is expanded in order to reduce this gap.

Symbol Processing by Non-Symbol Processor

TL;DR: A way of processing symbolic information by non-symbol processor is discussed to discuss that some information is lost by the use of symbolic expression in compensation of its simplicity and this lost part of information often plays an important role in the real world.

Loose coupling of KAUS with existing RDBMSs

TL;DR: This work introduces a knowledge processing system KAUS (Knowledge Acquisition and Utilization System), which is a logic based system, and describes how to couple it loosely with existing relational database systems (RDBMSs).
