Reaction-diffusion theory of localized structures with application to vertebrate organogenesis

TL;DR: Biological pattern formation is addressed within the framework of Turing's (1952) chemical theory, finding that both can give localized pattern if the ratio of the component diffusivities is high, linking Turing theory with the inhibitory field theory of Wigglesworth (1940).

Thermodiffusion in the Critical Region

TL;DR: In this article, the critical dynamics of binary fluid mixtures with a focus on thermodiffusion were reviewed, showing that the critical region is surrounded by a large crossover region, where the enhancements are no longer asymptotic but still significant compared to the background values.

Making Geographical Clusters More Successful: Complexity-Based Policies

TL;DR: The geographical clusters (GCs) as discussed by the authors are geographically defined production sys-tems, characterized by a large number of small and medium sized factories that are involved at various phases in the production of a homogeneous product family.

Goal functions, orientors and indicators (GoFOrIt's) in ecology. Application and functional aspects – Strengths and weaknesses

TL;DR: This paper argues that a division of goal functions and orientors makes sense, only the authors need in the future to be more clear and consistent in the use of the concepts.
