Multiple Scales in the Simulation of Ion Channels and Proteins

TL;DR: A computational approach using explicit multiscale analysis instead of implicit simulation of all scales is suggested, based on an energy variational principle EnVarA introduced by Chun Liu to deal with complex fluids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computation of the Boltzmann entropy of a landscape: a review and a generalization

TL;DR: These recently developed methods can be regarded as first steps in the computation of Boltzmann entropy for landscapes, and future research is recommended to improve the computation and to apply Boltzman entropy in the thermodynamic understanding of landscape dynamics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of time and information in dynamic time

TL;DR: Time is intrinsically locally asynchronous, dynamic in itself, and self-organizing in having locally asynchronous time precipitate further asynchronous time while leaving behind globally synchronous time.

Effects of temperature on local two-phase flow structure in bubbling and turbulent fluidized beds of FCC particles

TL;DR: In this paper, a high temperature optical fiber probe was developed to study the effects of bed temperature on the local two-phase flow structure in a pilot scale fluidized bed of the FCC particles with bed temperatures ranging from 25°C to 420°C, covering both the bubbling and turbulent fluidization regimes.
