Prediction of Disc Cutter Life during Shield Tunneling with AI via the Incorporation of a Genetic Algorithm into a GMDH-Type Neural Network

TL;DR: A new model to estimate the disc cutter life (Hf) by integrating a group method of data handling (GMDH)-type neural network (NN) with a genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed, indicating that the hybrid model predicts disc cutterlife with high accuracy.

Prediction Model of Shield Performance During Tunneling via Incorporating Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Into ANFIS

TL;DR: The proposed model integrates an improved particle swarm optimization with adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) based on the fuzzy C-mean (FCM) clustering method to predict the EPB shield performance during tunnelling.

Optimization of EPB Shield Performance with Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System and Genetic Algorithm

TL;DR: An efficient multi-objective optimization model to predict the shield performance during the tunneling process that integrates the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) with the genetic algorithm (GA) using shield operational parameters as inputs and computes the advance rate as output is established.

Novel model for risk identification during karst excavation

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a fuzzy model for identifying high risk factors during excavations in urban karst geological environments, which incorporates the interval analytic hierarchy process (I-AHP) into the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS).

Investigation on performance of a large circular pit-in-pit excavation in clay-gravel-cobble mixed strata

TL;DR: In this article, a pit-in-pit (PIP) excavation with a large diameter circular pit outside and a smaller rectangular pit inside was constructed in clay-gravel-cobble mixed strata.

Long-term settlement behaviour of metro tunnels in the soft deposits of Shanghai

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that tunnel deformation is mainly due to urbanisation-induced land subsidence in Shanghai, and the magnitude of tunnel settlement is correlated to sublayer settlement rather than ground surface settlement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Shape of ground surface settlement profiles caused by excavation

TL;DR: There are two general types of settlement profiles induced by excavation, the spandrel type and the concave type based on a regression analysis of the field observations of settlement curves with.

Numerical evaluation of land subsidence induced by groundwater pumping in Shanghai

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical model is proposed to predict the future behavior of land subsidence in Shanghai due to pumping of groundwater, which takes into account the multi-aquifer-aquitard hydrogeological condition of the soft deposit of Shanghai.

UH model: three-dimensional unified hardening model for overconsolidated clays

Y.-P. Yao, +2 more
- 01 Jun 2009 -
TL;DR: Based on the relationship between the current yield surface and the reference yield surface, a new model, called the three-dimensional unified hardening model for overconsolidated clays (the UH model), is proposed in this paper.
