TLDR
In this paper, a dressing laser can embed a low-lying atomic state into a flat continuum to produce a tunable resonance of adjustable width, and the effects of laser phase fluctuations on the interference phenomena responsible for LICS are included in both semiclassical Wiener-Levy and fullyquantum mechanical theories of multiplicative stochastic processes.

Electromagnetically induced transparency : Optics in coherent media

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider the atomic dynamics and the optical response of the medium to a continuous-wave laser and show how coherently prepared media can be used to improve frequency conversion in nonlinear optical mixing experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Observation of electromagnetically induced transparency.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report the first demonstration of a technique by which an optically thick medium may be rendered transparent by applying a temporally smooth coupling laser between a bound state of an atom and the upper state of the transition which is to be made transparent.
Book ChapterDOI

Coherent Population Trapping in Laser Spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the coherent population trapping in laser spectroscopy and discuss the basic properties of an atomic system prepared with coherent population-trapping superposition of states.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electromagnetically induced transparency

TL;DR: In this paper, the basic physical ideas behind electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) are elucidated and the relation of EIT to other processes involving laser-induced atomic coherence, such as coherent population trapping, coherent adiabatic population transfer and lasing without inversion, is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Laser-induced population transfer by adiabatic passage techniques.

TL;DR: Some basic techniques for laser-induced adiabatic population transfer between discrete quantum states in atoms and molecules are reviewed.

Perturbations in the Spectra of Diatomic Molecules

TL;DR: The theory of rotating-vibrating diatomic molecules with nonzero spin and orbital angular momenta was introduced in this paper, where the authors reveal the interrelationships between apparently unrelated observables, electronic states, and molecules.

Introduction to high energy physics

TL;DR: The 4th edition of as mentioned in this paper provides a comprehensive introduction to modern particle physics, including developments in elementary particle physics and its connections with cosmology and astrophysics, and the balance between experiment and theory is continually emphasised.

Autoionizing states in strong laser fields

TL;DR: In this article, a formalism for the study of autoionizing states under the influence of strong lasers is developed, cast in both a semiclassical as well as a fully quantum-mechanical form.
