Abstract
A novel technique has been developed for measurement of dispersion and wavelength in microstrip transmission line laid down on an Al2O3 substrate. The frequency range so far investigated has been 4-12GHz, although the method could be satisfactorily used at far higher frequencies. The measurement accuracy is better than within 1%. Techniques for producing well matched transitions to any thickness substrate have also been established.

Microstrip Dispersion Model

TL;DR: The assumption that the quasi-TEM mode on microstrip is primarily a single longitudinal-section electric (LSE) mode leads to a transmission line model whose dispersion behavior can be analyzed and related to that of microstrip as mentioned in this paper.

A Frequency Dependent Solution for Microstrip Transmission Lines

TL;DR: Theoretical and experimental results of open microstrip propagation on both a pure dielectric and a demagnetized ferrite substrate are presented in this article, where a Fourier transform method is used to obtain the frequency dependence of phase velocity and characteristic impedance, and also the electromagnetic field quantities around the microstrip line.

TL;DR: In this paper, a theory is described which takes into account the curvature of the microstrip ring resonator, which is shown to have a large influence on dispersion measurements on microstrip lines with small impedences.

Wideband Microstrip Ring Resonator Bandpass Filters Under Multiple Resonances

TL;DR: In this article, a new class of wideband microstrip bandpass filters under multiple resonances of an asymmetric ring resonator is proposed, where two capacitive coupling elements are placed at two perpendicular positions of a squared ring, whereas a pair of open-circuited stubs is formed in the symmetrical plane of these two excited ports similar to a dual-mode ring filter in shape.

Measurement of dielectric constant using a microstrip ring resonator

TL;DR: In this paper, an approach for measuring the permittivity of dielectric materials by means of a microstrip ring resonator is presented, which is used in conjunction with the variational calculation of the line capacitance of a multilayer microstriplike transmission line.
